So dorms generally kind of suck. This is kind of a general assumption you can make, yes? Now let me say I wanted to get an apartment here in Columbus, but there was just not enough time to look into places and figure out if it's close enough to commute to/from school (especially since it's winter), get a lease signed, and look into getting a roommate, so I've put off the apartment just until next semester. In the meantime, I've been put in one of the two dorm buildings that Columbus College of Art and Design offers its students. It's called Schottenstein Residence hall, and having seen the dorms of friends going to Kent State, Bowling Green, and Ohio University, I'd say this place isn't all that bad. The only thing I kind of mind is not having our own kitchen since I like to cook and try to keep myself on a reasonably healthy diet of homemade food. This will have to do for now though. Here is the room!

That's about it for now! There's another dorm called the Design Square Apartments that are really really nice compared to these, but they get filled up quickly. That's what I get for doing everything so last minute! I'll have to take a couple of photos of one of the dorms over there so you guys can see how pampered the kids over there are!
Effing sweet. Your side looks all chic and shiny! I love it!! Is there a lot of room in there? It seems like your dorm is massive just from the pictures.
ReplyDeleteCan you rent a kitchen kind of thing ever? I know at UT's dorms, they have kitchenettes down in the basement sort of thing where students can rent a kitchen to cook dinner! Or Amy's makes really great frozen dinners! :D
