December.

So this is a couple of days later than I had planned, but I've been pretty busy with work lately (a good thing, of course) so I guess today will have to do. It's finally December, so I suppose I'll figure out for sure what I'm going to do with myself in the next couple of weeks. Anyway, lately:

I bought myself one of these.

It's the official Yellow Bird Project scarf! The Yellow Bird Project is a Montreal based nonprofit that reaches out to indie bands for designs for t-shirts and the like, and the profits from the shirts go to a charity of the band's choosing! Basically, EVERYONE WINS. You can read more about them here if you're so inclined.

Next up, I've been playing guitar quite a bit lately, but unfortunately, I only have 2 cables and they're pretty worn out. I decided to invest a bit more this time to get myself a good cable that will last, and I came across this:

I'm seriously overdue for a new guitar cable.
The cables themselves are handmade, and then wrapped in yarn to make them stand out and resist tangling! The colour schemes are pretty neat too; I went with the style above. They are also scotch guarded to keep the yarn from getting dirty. They come in a variety of colours and sizes and are available through their Etsy shop.

Last but not least, I've been looking around for a tea kettle lately, and I got myself a tea ball, but it's just average really. I've been brewing loose leaf tea just about daily, so I was happy to come across this when checking Woot.com today:

Tea!
Woot is a site that offers one great deal that's only available for one day. At midnight, a new deal goes up. They started off as just one site offering mostly electronics and household wares, but have since expanded to include a T-Shirt site (that often votes for community designed prints for a certain theme) a site for wine, a site for kid's stuff, and a second storefront run in association with Amazon. Anyway, back to the pot: it brews the tea inside of the pot, and then when your tea is ready, it will filter it down into your mug/cup/face/whatever. Basically, it's convenient, and comes as a nice box set with a few flower balls and tins of tea as well. I hadn't planned on buying this, but it's too cool to pass up right now, haha.

  1. Love the Yellow Bird Project! On Tumblr I follow one of the girls that takes photos for YBP. Actually, she took that one of the scarf. Also, that Etsy shop is fantastic, I love all of those cables!
