I'm really glad I got to spend 3 weeks in Cleveland. It gave me a good chance to move on from the life I've been chasing for years, and to recognize the people and things that really matter to me. I also got to visit Columbus twice, and got a tour of Columbus College of Art and Design, as well as the Cleveland Institute of Art. I was really impressed with everything about CCAD, and I think Columbus is just a really cool place in general. I could definitely see myself living and going to school there, and I'm glad I still have several friends out there to help make the transition smoother. It's not easy making a transition from an apathetic sod to staying motivated and working towards tangible goals, but I think this week has been a good start. I've decided to apply to CCAD and try and begin this upcoming winter semester. I recently got a portfolio critique from someone there, and I got a lot of good feedback about things I'm doing right and other things that need work. I know it's good for me to have to continue working at my art, and being forced to constantly improve.
The most troubling thing right now is knowing how much money I'm going to have to spend in the next couple of months just getting myself out of here. Having to buy a laptop is definitely a lot of money I didn't want to have to spend just yet, but the fact that I've been unable to pick up a second job is only making things worse. Good thing the holiday season is just around the corner. Anyway, I just wanted to jot down a few things about what I'm up to these days. I plan on staying on top of this blog in the future. Perhaps shorter, but more frequent updates? We'll see.
