So here I am now.

As you can see, things did not end up working quite out last year; but I've decided to put the specifics behind me and focus on how things are coming together now. Though I hadn't anticipated to wait an extra year to get out to Sarasota, some video games, beer, and apathy have made the extra year relatively bearable while I try and get things back on track. Thus, a new plan begins to take shape. Actually, it isn't really a new plan, it's really the same old one, only re-envisioned for current circumstances. May has finally rolled around, leaving me with just 3 months to save up whatever money I can, get all of my loans and whatnot sorted out, figure out my living situation, and get some artistic gears grinding again. 3 months is actually a pretty good deal of time, but if I get careless, I could easily find myself scrambling to get things in order in late July. Procrastination is most likely my single most notable talent.

I Have been looking at apartments in Sarasota for a month or two, but my options are somewhat limited by my lack of transportation when I move. It is very unlikely that I will have the money to spend on gas, insurance, and car payments after I get out to Sarasota, so any place I find will have to be in walking distance. Hopefully, this obstacle won't force me to live in student housing. While the student housing at Ringling is actually pretty nice, I  would much rather have the freedom of a place on my own or with a roommate or two. I also don't really want to resort to student housing because then I would have to buy a meal plan, and the cost for those two things really adds up. Hopefully I'll be able to find someplace nice and generally affordable, but it will definitely be difficult to do right now. Apartment hunting is quite difficult when you're 1600 kilometres away. Bah!

  1. You should look at getting a bicycle! I'm sure you can find a cheap one somewhere! That should help you out a lot.

We had a hard time looking for apartments on our own, so we looked for a free realtor. You should check into that, too! Sometimes people who just got their licenses do a lot of realty practice work so that would be your best bet! :)

    Good luck!!
